No matter what now Egypt is going to have refugees on their hands
The people have only one direction they can go. Israeli doesn’t care about civilian loss, the only thing holding them back are the hostages, especially with Netanyahu at the helm plus he feels he has justification. Well realistically the hostages will likely not survive so mass destruction will ensue
It’s whether we are proactive to ensue somewhat of a transition here and also share the burden with neighboring countries or if it just becomes a clusterfuck
If only there was like a UN to assist in a humanitarian crisis such as this
Israel's mistake here, imo, was not allowing for any buffer. They should have announced something like a 1 week prep period, amassed on the border, and announced any citizens left in Gaza after that week would be deemed supporters of Hamas and treated as such. then start from the border and sweep east and south until the entire region is cleared.
when you tell people to evacuate but then also immediately start bombing it's a bit hard for people to leave in time. my wife can't pack a bag for a weekend trip in under 3 hours, imagine packing up your entire life overnight before the bombs start dropping.
if we dont have refugee camps set up by mid week its going to get even more nasty, people wont evacuate if they think there's nothing to evacuate to.
