I have no idea how the Brazilian legal system works, I am pretty sure you do not either.

I do know this guy was convicted of two crimes leading to a 24 year prison sentence, was released from prison and allowed to run for president, all the while having three pending criminal cases.

I don’t understand what you are trying to say. Are you saying he was set up and is not a career politician who uses that power to commit crimes? That is very unlikely but please provide evidence to show how honest this man is.
