if i told you "i don't believe the civil war happened, since i didn't witness it with my own eyes" you'd (justifiably) think i'm crazy / stupid. it's a moronic "standard" in order to rationalise a "discussion" that's clearly not founded on reasonable doubt, but a political agenda.
I never said I doubted an event just because I didn't see it with my own eyes. I said, the fact that I didn't see it with my own eyes means I should always allow for the possibility that it's not what it's portrayed to be and as a result, I should listen to people who doubt it.
