UA have soviet-made warfare, that's right, but plenty of countries did join NATO having soviet warfare. It never was a problem.
In fact I read an article saying that NATO insisted on changing logistics routines, rather than changing equipment.
Asking for reparations are means for our currently ruling party to make politics, and to gain some votes in National elections (voters like the concept of free cash, especially when its a lot), nobody sane really expects them, lol.
UA neutral status is a cause of invasion. Putin saw a country that is outside of big alliances, and attacked it. Its that simple.
The way to prevent would have been to allow Ukraine into NATO.
