I'm sorry does mean "I won't do that again." I feel like some things are much harder to stop than others. "I'll try not to do that again" is good enough for me so long as it does stop within a reasonable amount of time.

I don't think there is ANY way to be certain.

But you can't use your belief as proof of god's existence.

Now me... I've got real problems tonight. It's a full moon and I'm gonna try and take a pic of it.
The only problem is that the only time I'll be able to see it over the trees, hills and houses, is about 1:30 to 2:30am.
