Is it odd behavior for a citizen of a country to hold high standards for seats of power and expect better of the people elected? And, if they aren't what a citizen deems fit for office, is it not our duty to voice that opinion for the betterment of our country and do something about it?

Definitely not sorry we think you voted for a joke and a shit stain on American history. Definitely going to voice that opinion and also expect better from my fellow citizens.
