She uses her "appeal to moral/policy purity" as a cudgel to increase her own appeal with voters at the expense of her fellow party members, but makes pragmatic votes which fly in the face of her holier-than-thou attitude time and time again whenever taking a "principled" stand would be detrimental to her long-term rise to power.

The prime example is that AOC voted for Pelosi as Speaker... both times. She was rewarded for her compliance with two committee assignments, unusual for a freshman member of Congress. Bitching and moaning about Pelosi and the corrupt "corporate Democrats" - that's fine for AOC, that goes over well with her progressive voters. But actually voting that way and making a powerful enemy out of Pelosi, one who could derail AOC's promising career? No thanks, better record the next hip vid for TikTok.
