I'm not a badass. That's my point. You don't need to be a badass to do a dangerous job effectively. The idea that cops have a uniquely dangerous job 99.9% of the time is objectively false.

We should be screening cops for badasses. We want cops who can handle stressful situations without executing civilians and will rush in to save kids being slaughtered.

We currently don't do that, and it shows. I'd love to live in a world where all cops were tough and capable. But that's not the world we live in.

about 50 police officers are killed intentionally by criminals every year. the idea that its a dangerous job is silly. statistically factory work is about as dangerous.

Also, they generally don't. They are trained to self-preserve even at the cost of civilian lives. Our current police apparatus in almost all of America is pathetic and corrupt.
