Social workers are trained on how to handle those kinds of situations. My mother is a 140lb woman who's worked with 30+ residents for her entire career in a care facility. Lots of autism, lots of fits. Never once even gotten close to being stabbed.
The data also bears this out. Everywhere that has transitioned to this model has not has that issue.
Also, the social worker can always call a police officer after they arrive if needed. It's not like police will be banned from ever showing up when they are necessary.
So when these calls are made, the caller knows with absolute certainty whether that person just simply has autism or is high as shit on meth and could be violent? Are the callers psychic? On another note, whenever these calls are made, how does the police dispatch know that the caller knows the person has autism?
If that caller knows this, then there are other services that they can rely on besides emergency dispatch. So they really shouldn't be calling 911 at all, because 911 is either for fire or police services.
I also wouldn't trust those "studies" plagued with leftie loonies in social sciences fudging the data or twisting the conclusion that can be derived from the dataset.
