There's a threshold were politicians can't (or refuse) fight back corruption, influence, from small groups.

So there's red lines on both sides. The real question is what happen a long time after this threshold has been reached.

It isn't all of how you organize your government. But how you're economy is arranged is dictated by the government and how they enforce property rights.

For instance, our government is lax about enforcing wage rights and stringent on physical ownership which pushes the balance of power towards owners rather than workers. Owners get away with billions of theft every year with no real investigations because of this, and it dwarfs all property crime. That's a very capitalist mode of governance.

The societal impact of these things cant be ignored. "Omg hitler smoked" is a shit argument when most of these companies are american made.

When I lived in Italy and was waiting for a bus in the morning there were crowds upon crowds of children smoking. So whose fault exactly is that?
