one of the exceedingly rare good points the trans advocates have is that adults slap children over and over with cis gendered norms to the point that it makes sense people think gender is a social construct. it's not, at least not predominately, but the amount of "oh you're a girl i bet you have a lot of barbies at home" that people toss at kids does make the idea gain traction. there's just also an incredibly well backed biological structure around sex and gender as well, so its a chicken/egg situation.

my 18 month old daughter loves trains, cars, trucks, tools, etc. and she loves dolls, kitchen playsets, etc. we'll see how it shakes out.

It's why hitting a child is fine for most, but talking with a child as an equal human is considered weird.

Weak people forgot strength comes in other forms, not victimizing those even weaker than themselves.

agree'd, once they turn like 6. if i try to talk to my 18 month old as an equal she sprays applesauce packets in my eye. but i dont hit her either, i just give her less applesauce packets.

but gender is a social construct. Sex isn't, I mean, it kinda is because every categorization is fundamentally a social construct, but gender is like 99% arbitrary.

I have a niece hitting that age and it's funny to see her run mental circles around her grandparents.

They go "that's disrespectful you don't talk to your grandparents like that" and I always chime in "I'll stop her when she's not right".

The older generation has bought into so many fake sources of strength these days it's unreal. Being wrong can't just be a fact, but instead must be an insult.
