Yes I would kill anyone who threatens, say, my mother, and most likely I won't be charged with murder if I can show proof that I was trying to prevent grievous harm. However, technically, it would still be murder and wrong. It's just a murder that I would still commit, and one that I most likely wouldnt be punished for.
