It's really not. It's like health insurance, but for when your job doesn't care about your health.

A luxury would be being able to call any boss/manager/supervisor and telling them you have something more important than work and them going....yeah most stuff is good luck we will have your job here when you get back.

Instead its: You got cancer? You file the paperwork? No? Come to work til you do or your fired. Fired meaning you lost your health insurance you are going to need for the cancer.

This must be a hard concept for your kind to grasp? If there was no workers then I would do the job myself. But the offer on the table is too good to pass up and people regularly ask to work especially in covid times.
The reality you fail to grasp is that either you manup and start a business or find a better deal. There are leaders who organise and make shit happen, then there are followers who just follow orders and assist those who are the brains.

You can either pay a copay of 75$ at urgent care to get 3 days out of work unpaid or risk being fired because of no doctors note. Most people use some of their pto just because they got sick.
