Another way to tell it apart is the randomness. When Trump blasted journalists, he usually did it after a journalist had tried to rain on his parade in rather transparent fashion. Biden, by contrast, turns into a nasty old man at random and rather benign questions. Also, let's not forget that Biden is faced, on average, with a much more favorable press corps than Trump was. By and large, the DC media is not his enemy, the big majority of them want him to succeed.
