Nixon created the EPA mostly to create the illusion that he wanted to protect the environment.

Just like how Obama passed Obamacare so that he could say that he cared.

If anything, the government should just make it easier to sue corporations - and remove the protections of the owners against criminal charges.

You made a claim that the government doesn't give a shit about the environment and i raised an example where the govt at the time responded to pressure from the public regarding environmental concerns. This agency they created is effectively part of the govt and exists with the sole aim of improving environmental conditions for the public at large.

Well yes thats what it comes down to on virtually every topic of debate on industrial practices, profits vs spending more on doing things cleanly/humanely

Because some companies that dont use asbestos and lead get shut down by the EPA too.

That's pretty much what it is in a nutshell. The Fed is simply artificially stimulating the markets, thus propelling them to ATH while everyone else suffers from inflation, supply shortages, with worse to come.
