he’s got a point look how desolate and directionless so much of the population is. 250k might seem a lot but it’s probably accurate now in any sort of city or relatively affluent suburb where dual income is necessary to get ahead and send kids to proper schools. plus throw in prices of everything from everyday goods to materials being fubar. hard to save when youre a working/middle class person that has to pay $50 to gas up with unleaded. also that 250k is closer to 150k post taxes and a great deal of the population is saddled with all sorts of debt.
tcock and i are probably around the same age; growing up one could still have a relatively high-earning houshold with just one worker and one stay a home parent and still be solidly middle class +. not a failsafe scenario for a decent upbringing but still reasonable.
