the founding fathers were almost all good men, some truly great men, some heroes.
the talking point that many owned slaves and therefore cant be good people nor heroes is stupid.
Why is Andrew Jackson being taken off the twenty then?
And you super buy into the mythology. They were a diverse group of men with complicated lives and there is no way to know what kind of men they were.
We know some of them raped their slaves and sold their children, which is objectively evil of you buy into morality at all.
I'm not such a cultural relativist. John Brown was a better Founding Father than some, in his ineffective bipolar attempt to end slavery.
White men of the Confederacy literally considered themselves pharaohs, including incestuous relationships. Yes I get they were products of their time but there were also plenty of normal people there who did not rape people or have slaves.
People get angry at the suggestion that white men are not the heroes of history and bitch about a decades old academic theory that tucker told them about lol. I tend to my garden and come here to piss in the wind sometimes. Sometimes I piss all over an electric fence.
John Adams was a good man, and he did most of the work writing the Constitution as the US Constitution is based off the Constitution he wrote for his state. Jefferson? I dunno.
