Lets look at the tech industry.
Shortly before Covid started there was a down swing in this industry. It allowed the tech companies to attempt to go younger with their work force. This allows them to cut salary due to paying those close to retirement age to just retire... Or "changing the business model to phase out the experienced worker.
Currently the tech industry is hiring John and Jane at 20$ an hour in an entry level spot. John and Jane used to work in fast food.
However the tech industry is lacking experienced workers.
The experienced workers aren't coming back because they're enjoying retirement. Or they're so jaded to the industry that it would take a huge offer for them to return.
Eventually John and Jane will become experienced. What happens if Jane out performs John? John is let go and has to flip burgers. Jane stays on and sees a slight return on her time investment over the next 5 years. Only to question if she'll have a job in the next downswing or boom because they company is changing the business model to phase out the experienced worker.

Repeat.
Repeat.
Repeat.

gas prices were at a bottomed out level during the height of lockdowns, as demand plummeted for gas due to eliminating a massive percent of commutes into work. then they read stats Gas up X$ over X months using lockdown as the starting point and gas companies fleecing consumers with prices during a temporary shortage due to a single pipeline outage to make a fake outrage stat....
