Thats kind of the issue I described earlier. Say the coal miners unionize and think they benefit themselves at the expense of “their employers” but also to the public at large. Since special interest such as them have a voice but the free market does not, rhe free market always ends up offing itself when people pursue special interest.

I might add there are quite a few examples of special interest typically hurting themselves by deviating from the free market as well. A classic example of this is what happened to physicians agreeing to the insurance model and government intervention in healthcare in the US as a whole.

Im kind of at a point where i just hope we get enough trumps and other “useless” politicians to stall the inevitable doom of personal liberty until im dead. Theres nothing worse imo than a bernie, obama, etc who fervently believe in things that take away personal economic liberty from the individual/family. I know how this sounds to lots of more liberal folks (selfish etc) but maybe i watched too much milton friedman to know better

What do you believe is the greatest challenge facing society today that needs to be dealt with and how do you think we should deal with it? This might be a good separate topic on its own. What would your ideal presidential candidate do?

is this another "don't try to hold the rich and powerful accountable, don't complain about systemic injustices, don't question anything about capitalism, no matter how fucked up it is - because there are people who have it way worse than you personally" or has he finally moved on to a new shtick? a tl;dw would be nice as i'm definitely not clicking on a JBP video.

Way beyond my pay grade on that one lol. Probably the military industrial complex and the current power of the government lobby if i had to guess.

I like Ron Paul for his policy and economic direction. Ideal president would cut government spending and try to help the economically disadvantaged by doing something like charter schools and a negative income tax to replace welfare. Something along those lines.

You cant lobby for what the government doesnt have the power to do.

What i mean is that based off your previous statement regarding liberties, trump, bernie and obama its safe to say you don't believe wealth inequality is the most important issue facing society right now. The erosion of personal liberty by big government is your main concern?

With your reference to ron paul im guessing you're essentially a libertarian?

Also what do you mean by government lobby? Im aware of corporate lobbyist influencing government policies but haven't heard of the phrase government lobby or lobbyist before

I think the military industrial complex and power of special interest lobbys in government are probably the most important, but id have to give it a lot more thought, its a tough question.
