ok so related question, if faith alone is the only way to heaven, what in Baptist beliefs is the function of Jesus?
elsewhere in Christianity he serves the purpose of removal of mankind's sins through his death, specifically also in Catholicism the ritual of communion is used to do this, also from Jesus.
what role does Jesus play in the Baptist church that God alone doesn't already serve? and do Baptists do communion, and if so how often?
Jesus is God The Son, he is eternal life. He came to be the propitiation for our sins because the wages of sin is death.
1Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1Pe 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
1Jn 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
1Jn 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
