'Combined with their hatred towards eu'

Hm I think your projecting some real insecurities in your posts.
I live in the UK and on the whole I support working closely with the EU.
The UK has 65 million people, 4 distinct languages and great diversity.
To generalize them all in the way you have, shows a reall lack of maturity on your part.

Not sure exactly what you mean by blindspot. Perhaps your referring to the belief that Aztrazeneca vaccine is less effective than others. Which I believe was over exaggerated by those with
lateral motives.

While it may prove to be less effective in time. It may prove to be just as effective. In either case, its definitely saved lives through reduced risk of transmission.

The UK government has alot to answer for with over 100 thousand people dead with a positive covid test.

So vaccine rollout has been welcomed favourably. Although not closing the countries borders sooner, was completely unforgivable in hindsight.

i love how i even highlighted "SOME brits", yet you still insist i generalised "them all". that's either extremely poor reading comprehension, or just incredibly dishonest.
to be clear, although a bit of it certainly shines through YOUR posts (like wrongly claiming EU officials blocked the shipment / using terms like "complicit", implying shady or criminal behaviour...), you are by far not the worst offender when it comes to anti EU propaganda here. some of your fellow countrymen (as well as american right wingers) have told much more egregious lies. so please spare me the pearl clutching, your posts speak for themselves, and i am perfectly aware that not ALL brits are like that.

back to the vaccines, it is my understanding as well that early reports about AZ's efficacy were too cautious and exaggerated, leading to public rejection of the vaccine, which, with the benefit of hindsight was indeed a mistake (not one i could ever understand some lowlifes gloating about, as we're talking about human lives here, but still a mistake) - and like i said in a previous post: i wouldn't mind getting vaccinated with it. that said, if i had free choice, i'd most definitely prefer the biontech vaccine, as would probably 99% of people not blinded by some kind of jingoistic pride or delusion.

Considering the german health officials told people Aztrazeneca wasn't safe for 65's

When it clearly is. Then. Sure, keep them.

Germany's vaccination rate appears to be less than 3%
So they probably will be needed.

After years of asking british people to stay in the EU, it didn't take long for the knives to come out when they left.

As time has elapsed I've realised we're just a lot different to Europeans and it makes sense for us to break apart

It isn't good in economic terms or for keeping the union together, but that's partly down to the deal the government negotiated

why? being confronted with some outspoken and ignorant brits doesn't change my admiration for their country and culture. i know so many perfectly lovely, intelligent, and reasonable people from there, a few select idiots don't have the power to destroy that image.

to be fair, it is my personal experience that the rate of jingoistic asshats seems to be higher amongst the english compared to dutch, swiss, irish, swedish, belgian, austrian, scottish, czech, or danish people for example, but that impression might just be a result of a small sample size - although it's undeniable that a certain tendency for what most mainland europeans would probably consider borderline cringe, flag-waving patriotism is very much part of some of their cultures. to each their own though, i often find it adorable rather than offensive tbh.

i mean, i get that you were just joking anyway, but the underlying observation is still one i largely reject these days. it's not hard to imagine how in a world that was not as connected and rich with sources of information as we find ourselves in, it would have been much easier to amplify such disagreements in order to generate some serious and widespread mistrust and spite.

Didn't read this. I noticed you edited some into your post.

my post was last edited 15:10 (to correct a truly embarrassing misspelling of "exaggeration", unfortunately eternalised in knoppie's quote of my post at 15:08), yours was posted (and edited) at 15:47 - more than half an hour later. suggesting that i edited the "SOME" in after you lied about me generalising "ALL" brits is yet another pathetic dishonesty on your part.
also, your little "didn't read" line is just a transparent attempt to save face by avoiding to address your repeated misrepresentations. i know you did, and there would have been no reason for you to claim it in the first place had you not realised that i called you out for your bullshit, lol.

I legit stopped reading. Your projecting serious insecurities and not really adding anything valuable.
I'll also repeat what I said about you generalizing. It's clear to see.
Little substance and much emotion.
There could probably be some good points if you removed ad-hominem and whatever anti british complex you have developed.

As for being embarrassed at misspelling something, c'mon dude.
Get the bigger picture.

me: "SOME brits are ignorant"
you: "how dare you generalise ALL brits like that"

me: "some ignorant assholes won't change my admiration for great britain and its cultures"
you: "you have an anti-british complex"

i really hope it's poor reading comprehension, but it certainly looks like deliberate misrepresentation from my perspective...
