Too bad the geriatric turbo boomers are gonna bitch and moan about their 300 year old outdated, out of touch piece of paper again or maybe we would actually get some laws in place that benefit everyone.

Cuz we see how much the first amendment is benefitting us huh. This is just an "omg my murder weapons" thread anyway.

Liberty, and the ability to defend it will never be outdated. I'm completely fine with being out of touch with your concerns. Your concerns are founded in specious logic and misrepresentation.

criminals still exist, when my home gets broken into by a criminal holding an illegal gun id rather be holding my legal gun than standing there scratching my nethers. police response time to my house is 20 minutes, i'd know, ive called them in an emergency. they told me to leave my house and wife inside and go outside and ID the criminals license plate for them before they get away. then i got a lecture from the cop for not IDing who was driving because they couldnt charge anyone without knowing who the drunk driver was that plastered through my mailbox, ditch, and yard.

Thats terrible, honestly. But guns arent worth the amount of death from mass shootings, and too many people think its a perfectly fine price to pay.

Things have settled for the moment, but the moment people get vaccinated and start grouping up again tbose shootings are going right back up.

yikes. if gun nuts only had the slightest clue how cringe their beloved "lel, they used the wrong term for a particular firearm. they clearly don't know what they are talking about at all, and thus can't possibly come up with legislation to protect innocent lives. if you don't spend your time and money buying walmart tacticool gear, gun magazines, and cosplaying special ops, you're not worthy of writing gun legislation." line of argument is, they would stop making it. that's like insisting only alcoholics should be allowed to write drinking laws, or only race car drivers and mechanics should craft traffic laws...

it's really just an intellectually lazy way of refusing to address the issues caused by america's gun obsession, to portray the ones trying to solve them as entirely clueless, and thus unable to.

why does the PRO GUN community not come up with some actual solutions for issues like mass shootings, firearm homicide, or gun suicide for example? shouldn't it be in their interest to solve them in order to protect their simplistic interpretation of the second amendment? all they do is reject everything that is proposed, reject everyone trying to solve those issues as 'clueless', and blame other factors (that strangely do NOT lead to the same problems in all of your peer countries), while actively preventing research on the issue. do you genuinely not realise how that looks, how obvious their real motives are?

If only we were talking about minor linguistic mistakes. If you don't understand what guns are primarily used in crimes, and which are not, or you've cobbled together a list of "bad" guns based on the latest action flick, you are not a serious participant in the debate.

Suicide rates in the United States are pretty comparable to other developed states, and indeed lower than many countries with far more stringent gun control and far lower rates of violent crime. When comparing the United States against Canada, for instance, the suicide rate is relatively equivalent even though firearm suicides are far lower in the north.

Americans are not going to give up constitutional rights because of a few isolated mass shootings. This is the sort of logic that led the Germans to give the state the power to kill 6 million Jews. Fool me once, etc.
