Most experts on both sides agree that Taiwan is of great importance for multiple reasons Unfortunately, the public does not. It is paramount for these experts to educate the general population on WHY Taiwan is important because it's not really clear from an economic or national security perspective.

Then there is the whole global stability aspect but that's more of a secondary effect.
