in any case the broad stroke checks we have are still there, 2 term limit on potus, the EC, congress, scotus, etc.

these types of checks arent hard coded by constitution in the same way in other places where facism has swept, or at least if they were coups were used to eliminate them.

maybe im wrong and we all live in handmaids tale in 10 years, but i dont see it. my biggest worry was Trump serving 2 terms, then Trump Jr serving 2, then Eric, or w/e. just juggling the power. but we didnt even get 2 terms into that nightmare.
