On another note a better question would be if you had a robot and it only can do one thing before it ran out of battery either make you a sandwich or scratch your nuts. That would be way more important

Agreed with them. A child is not always to be expected to know right from wrong, and their lack of a right to be in the crosswalk is more than balanced by the life-years saved by hitting the elderly victim. Of course, I consider the idea that this is an either-or to be ridiculous. Intentionally crashing into a non-human object like another car is preferable.
