The only difference vs past is still big: economic plan can be computed, but communism is still wrong. Human nature can't afford this yet.
Social democracies like in Europe is the lesser evil model; a constant pressure to maintain equalities and strong governement vs corporations, still delivering power to politics who are efficiently chosen by citizen. It's a balance to maintain and i'm not sure we can even do this for a long time.

I think that today you can get two horrors for the price of one failed revolution: a falsified communism - authoritarian with no opposition party, still capitalistic - with a ruling elite having 99% of wealth. You are missing the big picture, so stick on these EU social-democracies like i explained above; this is my opinion.
Then we can afford laws for environmental issues; 2, even only 1 car(s) instead of 3, no more plastic shits gadgets, etc... Is the price many are ready to pay, including myself.
