I think we need to encourage exactly what godly said, more police out in the community having positive interactions with the citizens in the poorer areas, if you watch these kids grow up you are less likely to pull the trigger, if those kids have known you 15 years they are less likely to distrust you.
The stigma with police comes from a lack of positive communication.

At about 12-13 it goes from "Hello children!" To "we'll be seeing you".

I've had positive interactions and really bad onces. German police were the only ones that beat me up though. Guy had a club that bounced off of my head as i fell down lol. Don't tell a german police officer not to be a sour kraut. My base commander had to come get me, i got an article 15 :/

One side is feeling like they are treated poorly they make a campaign about it. It turns violent and perhaps the message is diluted. There are always going to be people who will overlook the simplistic reasons. Everyone just wants to be accepted

My mates got beat up, my dads cousin was a Senior Sargent so I was untouchable.
I saw both sides of policing.
