The MG42 was on a bipod, and along with the Maxim were part of my testosterone fueled bachelor party, along with full auto M16, a Thompson SMG, & AK47. The .50 and the M60 were mounted emplacements on my ship. The thing I remember the most about the Maxim was a paper-feed belt, which just seems like a poor idea in trench warfare. Google however tells me I'm wrong, it's a canvas belt. I've also had a go at the BAR, and my personal favorite, the MP5. For historical reasons, I really want to shoot the stg44.

This makes me feel that youre just a gun enthusiast who wants them freely available for "libertarian" reasons.

If you think that, you must not have spent much time in PaRD.

I actually don't even own a semi-automatic weapon of any kind, which themselves are perfectly legal. Just a pair of pump action shotguns and a bolt action rifle. That's not to say I don't want one, but I can't justify buying one. Makes me a pretty poor "enthusiast" if you ask me. No, I really do want my fellow citizens to be able to decide for themselves they don't consent to any treatment they're receiving from their government, and to be able to do something about it. Cliven Bundy and his boys are heroes as far as I'm concerned. Janet Reno should be in prison, so should Casey Codding and Joseph Astarita.

You're either new or stupid; pick which one you'd rather be known as. Santara is an established libertarian, and supports the ideology on a wide range of topics (and has for longer than libertarianism has been in the mainstream)

Do not count on libertarians to bump topics on mass shootings done in the very last years, where dozens, hundreds of people got shot, or to talk about the 1 (or 1.5) million of deaths due firearms in the last decades.
On the other hand yes you can count on them to remind that 50 years ago (during the age of freeeeedoooom lynchings & segregation btw) 3-4 students got killed in a big mistaken army shooting.

As balanced as a crackw. crawling on the street.

While there are a large number of mass shootings in the U.S., gun violence accounts for a pittance of preventable deaths. It's not a super important topic.

Oh please buzz off, for the several years i posted and lurked this sf the logic of libertarianism has always eluded me and i constantly try to see new ways of understanding the underlying motives and psychology behind this political position. After all if youre poor or disadvantaged in life you tend to vote left, if youre privileged or successful you tend to vote right but not libertarian... libertarian psychology is more complex and bizarre imo tho (with all due respect). Santara is the more coherent libertarian who still posts in this sf, the other one is a borderline hack who seems to take all criticism as a personal attack against his flawless ideology.

E: i come from a time where widowmaker was still amongst us, so really gtfo with your "youre new or stupid" high horse bs.

I've seen you lurking for years, can vouch.

I think both cam and snipa are more coherent. I often find that they finish the thoughts I start in threads. Maybe I'm just too lazy? I also don't fault cam for a low tolerance for bullshit, when it's the same people year after year making the same points, it just gets old.

Settling on stupid, then. As long as we're on the same page.
