So can somebody give me the elevator pitch on what happened and why its bad?

Ever since the bullshit that was gamergate I've gone out of my way to avoid all video game controversies that come in the form of "alt right says leftists are ruining the medium"

I don't want a video. I want an elevator pitch. If you can't summarize the fundamentals of whats bad and why in a few sentences it's not worth watching.

I'm doing this mainly to see if it's something that I would even consider bad on a fundamental level. Like, if you say "They included too many women, and that's bad because it's artificial inclusion" then I get to just tune out because that's not something that matters to me.

All of this is facts

You can't capture this in a few sentences. Perhaps in bullets

- Disgruntled (employee?) leaks TLOU2 story. Release of the game in a few months time.
- Fans pour all over it lapping it up (TLOF1 was crazy popular).
- Fans discover it's completely not what they expected, to put it mildly.
- Meanwhile Naughty Dog and Sony go apeshit and go after youtubers who reported on the issue. False Copyright strikes were made (for these youtubers the content was fair use)
- All of that made stuff worse for ND and Sony -> Streisand effect. Old interviews of Neil Drugmann are dug up showing Neil's agenda (gender politics).
- So the shit has hit the fan and once again SJW gender politics did't work out very well when you take a popular franchise and inject a political agenda into it.

Okay, nothing I'm remotely interested in then.

Companies squashing leaks is expected, and "they put gender politics in it" sounds like a secondary factor being smushed in by the same people who insisted gamergate was a something super serious.

Well if it's not serious then I guess it could work the other way too. Let male employees push to chop female characters from a game and replace with male characters for no other reason then gender politics, make part 2 of a popular game that way and just before release leak that info.

I'm interested in the reactions and especially how the shill media react to that one. xD

Mistakenly referring to people as lefty SJW's that aren't either left wing or SJW's because you don't understand nuanced viewpoints does not surprise me.

They own intellectual property that has been illegally leaked, I would expect developers to try and stop the proliferation of any leaked material and discussion videos to protect their asset.

If enough people are that outraged with the leaked story then they won't buy the game, or will buy the game and not purchase future NaughtyDog games. It could ruin them as a company, but that is business.

I knew anyway you'd never be able to counter what I just juxtaposed. There's no chance a popular story is altered by chopping female characters because male employees desire that. It would be mental.

Having that said I would suggest all those strong female employees start to actually create something, meaning a popular franchise. If you start it you can be the CEO and make it all female now how's THAT.
