Nice to see them actually going after Bernie. Too little too late though.

Those moderators were terrible at their jobs was the biggest takeaway for me.

ive shouted down right wingers who put forward voucher programs as a fix to the american education system plenty, this is the democratic debate thread not the GOP debate thread. and i already said yang was good, warren is decent, and the rest are a pack of all the same on education.

and ive said many times Bernie's end goal of a single payer system is fine by me, its the pace he gets there and his lies to the public on how realistic that pace is that i dont like.

but sure keep strawmanning to shill for bernie, that'll teach me.

see above. you guys use all the nuance of a coma patient on healthcare.

i reply honestly to skinned because he's an honest man, and when i use humor he's able to sense it and replies in kind. he's.....not you.

you severely struggle with a very basic but crucial distinction there: addressing the obvious message behind the 'joke', doesn't mean someone simply must not have gotten it.
i mean, i'm well aware how dishonest people like to use that excuse to claim that 'technically' they haven't taken a concrete stance on any given issue, that they just made easily identifiable jokes, and therefore no one could possibly assume their actual position, but that's simply not how that works - at least not when you have a somewhat intelligent 'audience'. sometimes i wonder what kind of people (family, friends, co-workers, teammates...) you deal with in your daily life, if you assume that anyone would fall for such transparent and cheap tactics...

Unfortunately being a good moderator means you will lose relevance as candidates who get cut off will stop showing up. Major news networks get debate privileges because they are nice to the candidates. Once you start playing hardball in interviews and debates you lose access.

nice try. your intentions are pure, but sorry, he clearly IS. it's a very consistent and reliable theme: every time he's that mad, he tries to nitpick spelling, semantics, or choice of words - usually unsuccessfully, and also rather ironic considering his own struggles with his native language ("its" and "it's" he reliably gets wrong, "worth" and "worse" is a new one though).

british english spelling. google it. i use it all the time...
reminds me of that idiot who ran out of arguments and took issue with either "colour" or "honour", don't remember which one exactly - but damn were they mad when i taught them...

that said, i already told you that even if i gave you that all of your hackery was just light-hearted 'jokes', it still doesn't change the fact they ALL aim at the same direction. so it's really not all that important how you prefer to label them, the intention is very obvious. also, you're taking the typical american, completely unnuanced approach to politics, where you're either for or against a candidate. you know it's not illegal to give someone credit for policies, ideas, or suggestions - even if you generally disagree with, or even dislike a candidate, right?

It's almost like you can set a clock to it.

wouldn't be a problem if there were some basic journalistic standard that applied to everyone who wants to call themselves that...

always amuses me greatly when american politicians are questioned by international press on foreign soil, where reporters don't just accept their BS responses and keep digging if they aren't satisfied with the answer...

Shocking that the majority of americans don't trust these people.

why do you, a german with no practical connection to the american education system, deserve to be engaged seriously?

if i was posting at thor, skinned, ink, or even any american right wingers i'd have formed my responses much differently.

i engage with people in real life with almost unanimous success. left, right, center, or uninterested. its the blessing of being a centrist, i can identify with anyone's perspective.

much like how i have a nuanced stance on bernie, healthcare, and education that ive demonstrated here and you have ignored to continue acting like im an alt right bernie hater. as ive said many times but apparently needs restating, im not against his general direction its the nuances in his pace and approach i disagree with. and anyways, 90% of my "dislike for bernie" is more dislike for his fervent supporters, not even the man himself. supporters i talk with on a weekly basis irl in long form, compared to your tangential internet connection to them.

what's actually shocking is that many americans take the apparent bias and lack of journalistic standards as an excuse to just outright dismiss everything they don't want to hear about their guy. are there some serious issues with msm? obviously, but does that mean that everything they say is fabricated, and that they are therefore the 'enemy of the people'? that'd be a ridiculous conclusion, but one that too many idiots still draw...

When the media is for profit that's what you get.

Want the media to trust people again? Go back to heavy regulation on air time and media companies in general and give them breaks for creating good journalism. When journalism is for profit this is what you get.

"These spoiled American kids" lol. We know.

If only we as parents were more like Asian parents truly caring for their kids enough to push and mold them at the right time instead of educating them on genders and expression.

No wonder if you look at pretty much any successful corporation you see Indians and Chinese people increasingly dominating high skilled high paying jobs when your garbage ideology is the flavor of the decade for american education.
