Dutch is my native language. English is pretty much fluent. Then on a scale from better to bad, German (can make myself understandable in most cases, will fuck up grammar), French(can do a decent bit more than the standard phrases) and then tiny bits of Italian/Spanish. I also learned to read Cyrillic really fast when I was on holiday in Russia, it's useful at times.

With all the foreign languages I know I am better at reading/understanding than writing/speaking.

I feel that. All the languages except Chinese and Japanese that I know I'm better at reading. Different alphabets fuck me up. Though Korean was easy.

Cyrillic was way easier than Korean, maybe because I had a bit of Greek in high school.

I couldn't be arsed learning to read Korean for the 2 weeks I was there. Additionally, almost everywhere in Korea has the Latin alphabet version too. In Russia, not that much ^_^ . Mostly useful for finding the Metro station in a drunken stupor at night.

That's so awesome! Your English is absolutely perfect, I think. One thing I've always envied about European education is the emphasis y'all place on learning more than one language. In America, we have "language requirements", which really are just taking at least 2 foreign language classes in high school that a majority of people (myself included) end up forgetting and not using after those classes.

Same here in the UK. If you already know English it's nto as important to learn other languages cos everyone knows English. It's a fucking lazy ass system that creates closed minded, insular people.

German here, took English, French, Spanish and a little bit of Italian in school. But I'm only fluent in English these days since there are just too few opportunities to practice the other languages in my everyday life.

But if necessary, I could get my French or Spanish back to a decent and functional (not: 'great') level in about 2-3 months.

I think that Americans (and Brits) would stand to gain from learning at least one foreign language to the level of fluency. On the other hand, the many languages that we continental Euros learn shouldnt be overrated. Most of this stuff is forgotten pretty quickly once you're out of school.

No, the real question is: will the values of society be preserved if the makeup of society changes? Postulating a scenario of questionable plausibility and then deriving the conclusion that everything is fine and unproblematic off of this shaky assumption is just bad logic.

Undisputable facts:
- the white population share in almost all western societies is shrinking
- society is built on its members and their values

Assumptions with very high likelihood of being true:
- there is no huge conspiracy by white-people-hating elites to replace them with non-white people because of the color of their skin
- even in a majority-minority society, the non-whites wouldnt bond together to enslave whites or commit a genocide against them

Plausible but debatable assumptions:
- elites are pushing for high immigration levels to grow the economy, put pressure on wages and the housing market
- immigrants with a different cultural background and socialization will affect the culture and society of their host nation, at least some aspects of their culture will diffuse and seep into their host country's mainstream culture

Dubious but not entirely unplausible:
- elites are actively trying to diversify the population of western countries in a "divide and conquer"-strategy seeking to make them more easy to manipulate and control, and specifically to prevent them from bonding along a "we the 99% vs the one percenters" line

So, do these opinions make me a nazi or a fascist?

More eloquently put but I feel its the same question. The argument for limiting immigration to preserve cultural values is a good one, but even with that the country will continue to move towards white minority. This isn't an issue if core values of the constitution are preserved.

Thats from my US standpoint.

What is white? How can you be worried about it being a minority if you can't define it?

Irish used to not be white. Now they are. If you take them out then whites were a minority a long time ago. And ya know what? The same argument was made when the Irish started migrating to America. They're bringing poverty, changing culture, etc.

If you look into history a bit you'll find that all of the "whites are getting replaced!" concerns have been the same concerns for well over 100 years, and they are no more concerning now than they were back then. Hell, there's still debate in some circles over whether jews are "white" or not.

It's almost like we treat minorities poorly or something.
