Since when did anybody argue that opinion people on certain networks can't be wrong, even ridiculously so? I don't even understand the criticism. People who defend the idea that CNN and MSNBC are more tethered to the truth than Fox News and Breitbart aren't defending every segment or opinion article.

There's plenty of clips I could post of Trump lackeys saying absurd shit on CNN panels.

Opinion is fine, although it's beyond disingenuous to claim that Ana Navarro is a Republican.

CNN's anchors and newspersons show demonstrable bias on a daily basis. It's Fox News tier, and the only people who disagree are ideologically invested in the notion that that's not true.

Breitbart is in a league of its own, there's no pretence of impartiality, it's propaganda. CNN and MSNBC want to be the higher standard, and they're obviously not cutting it.

If I were to sit down a Fox News viewer and CNN or MSNBC viewer, let's say of similar age, intellect, education, and they both watched an hour a day of news, and an hour of opinion. And I quizzed them on basic facts surrounding a couple of the biggest stories the past month, Ukraine and Syria. There's no doubt in my mind that the Fox News viewer would be less informed. Probably much less informed. Additionally, they would be misinformed. Not just a lack of information, but a belief in objectively wrong information.

So, we can quibble with how biased CNN and MSNBC are, but the reality is that Fox News is #1 in ratings. People like to defend their news side, but lately I've been sampling Bret Baier, and it's woefully shallow and biased coverage.

Can we get IceMage some help? He's dropping the "it's just the opinion side of Fox that's biased!" talking point and his shift towards rationality over the last few years has me worried. I think he might be suffering from some personal trauma or illness and we should get him some help.

Although it could just be that Widow isn't there to support his delusions anymore and he's flexing his critical thought more as a result.

I watched Bret Baier the night of Bill Taylor's testimony and was honestly shocked how bad it was. It wasn't even a minimization of the facts, as per usual. It was barely touching what the facts were, pivoting to a bunch of nonsensical process arguments, and then a "fair and balanced" panel of two Trump cultists and a former Obama campaign woman who looked like she'd never been on tv or spoken into a microphone before.

Maybe I didn't fully understand the bias before, but I do believe Fox News has gotten worse overall as well. When they're forced to defend the indefensible, rather than just attack Obama 24/7, it reveals the bias more clearly.

I have no idea how Fox is covering Syria and/or Ukraine, so I wouldn't know.

I do know how CNN covered Russiagate and the Kavanaugh hearings, and I would be astounded if their viewers weren't the most misinformed in the Western hemisphere. Their viewers are walking around today calling our Supreme Court justice a rapist, how more misinformed can you get?
