Yeah even something like a heartbreak or social ostracization can do the trick.
mental illness is "fake news", it's all the muslims....
what an odd take.
Mental illness is NOT fake news. What IS weird is how those that are mentally ill are dealing with their mental illness.
Why has this rash of shootings just happened... fairly recently. Things like this didn't happen with the prevalence, that they are happening today. And there were just as many "troubled" folk, just as many guns... etc.
If I was a non tech country and wanted to overthrow a highly technical country... I would find people that were unhappy with their own country, or lot in life, and re-enforce those feelings.
Destabilization is much easier than a military confrontation, you know you will lose.
Somewhere along the line, a lot of folks in the US have gotten the notion that they don't "deserve" their lifestyle, their good fortune, etc. Then ofc, this leads to believing that defending your lifestyle, culture etc., is somehow wrong.
The US pretty much needs to stop listening to other countries that for w/e reason, seek to "direct" our beliefs and actions.
Being understanding and empathetic is fine... up to a point. When being that way starts to affect how we live, what we believe... it's time to take a step back and reconsider.
/e There has been a huge paradigm shift. It used to be us against them. Now, it's us against ourselves. Maybe we've been erroneously assuming that only super powers can engage in propaganda. What with the internet and all the new tech....anyone can become propaganda pushers.
