Sign language is not signs. Did you have head damage as a child?

/e The 1st amendment only applies to WHAT the signs say. Not what language they say it in.

this simply isn't true and it isn't how the supreme court interprets the first amendment either.

So it would be cool with you if Trump changed the language of the US to say... Chinese? It would be his right, according to you... correct?

/e Or how about if Paul, changed the language of JSP to Chinese... that would be fine with you? Bummer about the 70K fg that you would no longer know the password for.

no i literally just said it would violate the first amendment if trump made the official language of the usa to your symbol language so the same goes for chinese(if this meant enforcing chinese-only speech), read the first amendment.

sign language, a language made up entirely of signs, isn't signs.

so you, a carbon based life form, are not carbon based. very logic, much wow.

Where in the first amendment is the word english? since you've read it an all.

lol also this:

Quote
Legend has it that English only defeated German by a single vote to become the official language of the United States, in a 1795 Congressional debate. * Until now, America has never had an official language. Before World War I, more than 6 per cent of US primary school children were taught in German.

Ya see, that's why I was talking about public signs. I didn't bring up the 1st amendment. I just applauded that law they passed in China. It's a good law. It does right by the majority of the country.

This is just more of the same old beliefs I have, that if someone emigrates to another country, they should be required to learn that country's language. Because it does good for the majority of the people IN that country.

Where in the 1st amendment is the word language? Ergo, since language isn't mentioned, it's understood to be applicable to those who can read it.

I always stand for the rights of the individual before 'doing right by the majority of the country'

street signs are not the property of a private business. your comparison is not valid.

and MANY states have street signs in other languages, all throughout the midwest there are streets of Native words. (i live on one). all throughout the country are names of trees and animals that aren't derived from english. and ALL cities with only a few exceptions have streets that are president's names or influential figures, those are pronouns and the same in all languages.

so to answer your question, both moot in this context and yes.
