I don't get it... how can you say they barely touched the interference? They identified the individuals involved at the GRU and IRA... they explained what they did. They talked about Russia hacking into voter databases. They outline the Russian contacts with Trump campaign officials, which may or may not have been directed by the Russian government. What did they miss?

The question of whether the dossier was a deliberate effort from the Russian government to misinform is an interesting one. I hope the FBI is looking into it.

It's partly about what they missed, roots of the dossier. and its part about what they did after, a boat load of shit into dead ends on Trump's personal behavior that was a waste of time and money.

The Mueller report should have been boring, a short overview of how we are vulnerable to social media peer pressures and misinformation. attached to a few indictments of people responsible in a criminal fashion.

instead it's kinda that, but with a massive tumor hanging out of it's neck that draws all focus and attention.

the purview wasn't defined because the democrats wanted political gains, knowing they wouldn't find any smoking gun. they were happy to string it along for years knowing it did nothing but smear a bit on Trump. and you cheered on every down.

So Mueller shouldn't have bothered investigating the myriad of troubling Russia related contacts involving Trump and his campaign... but he should've gone down the rabbit hole of analyzing every source Steele had, and trying to figure out if the Russian sources were intentionally spreading disinformation?

This discussion is retarded. No reasonable person could look at the facts involving Russia and the Trump campaign and think it didn't merit further scrutiny.

Robert Mueller decided it didn't merit further scrutiny over and over.

Troubling like the Trump tower meeting that Mueller never interviewed Trump Jr on?

if i had to choose between him pulling in Steele to run down sources on what started the investigation vs him pulling in Cohen to run down which porn stars Trump banged i'd choose Steele. but hey, what does an R-word like me know? i just have an actual understanding of burden of proof with a legal education and a non biased viewpoint.

i as an intellectual understand that at every step of this investigation valuable time and money were spent to try and link every transgression to Trump. read the interviews, how many times is "did president trump directly instruct you to do this". Flynn, Manafort, Cohen, etc. They should have slashed the throats of the goats and moved on to more pragmatic avenues, instead they lingered repeatedly trying to get Trump. and this wasnt even supposed to be a Trump investigation, it was an investigation into Russian interference. but we all knew, we all knew it was just a facade. it was a hail mary with the convenient side effect of political mud.

i for one would have preferred all of the people who went down to go down, a short summary on interference, then move on. short investigation. this drug out and is in benghazi nothingburger status now. it accomplished next to nothing. and things that accomplish nothing are a waste of time. i'd ask if we can even agree on that but you're way too doubled down to be reasonable, no matter how many times you cry that im the one being unreasonable.

if you want to know the real issue Icemage it's simple. i predicted we'd get fuckall from this (which happened) and you didn't.

no here we are, with hindsight, and i was right. and you were wrong.

so you've moved the goalposts to "we had to do it for national security". all because you couldnt predict this.

listen next time, write down what i say and just sit by the window waiting for it to happen.

when you're so desperate to appear 'centrist' that you uncritically accept the moronic and ignorant talking points of the cult, and completely ignore the fact that trump's campaign made several active efforts to conspire with russia that only failed due to incompetence or accidentally (their own ignorance concerning illegality and incompetence actually being the saving grace for junior and hicks for example) stopped just short of criminal conspiracy, as well as the multiple clear obstruction attempts that for one reason alone did not lead to charges (talking ofc about the olc guideline not to indict a sitting president)...
if that is comparable to benghazi to you, if it's really 'nothing', you might as well admit that you don't care about the facts, but about how you are perceived by the ppl whose approval you so desperately desire...
