I don't think you can blame the NRA for this stuff. They certainly play a role in making firearms more accessible, but to draw a direct link between that lobbyism and these gun violence episodes is quite a leap as there are many steps involved. Perhaps they should receive partial blame, but gun violence in America is a complicated, deep-rooted problem that probably has a lot of complicated factors involved.

And we have had serious discussions about gun violence. We are just struggling to figure out how to solve something so complicated. Taking all the guns away isn't going to work. Implementing more background and safety checks might decrease these mass shootings a little, but I think many would probably be surprised by how little. There's a lot of shit going on here.

of course it counts, i count each one with a smile on my face because of how racist i am. i've got a wall with about 12 million tally marks counting all of the black on black crime in the last few years.

how many of these are gang shootings though?

neither would tougher gun laws contribute significantly to disarming the gangs, nor would it help to reduce the gang problem in the first place, nor would it enhance the safety of those unfortunate souls who have to live in gang-infested quarters.

technically the source afaik is most commonly healthcare bankruptcy, but maybe you have a different study. i agree about wasteful spending, and think the current lobbying meta is a strong candidate. not that we could immediately stop, but we can combat it rather than trying to put out the cash fire with more cash.

Had to a tooth pulled and prep work for an implant. Dentists gave me two prescriptions for Vicodin, one for each operation. Pain only lasted about 6-8 hours and then it was just a weird sensation. And we wonder why people get hooked on opiates.
