The poll itself is shit. since we've seen the media and senate hearings all but prove that it's a he said she said situation that cannot really continue any further people are answering the question with a heavy amount of bias and not much else.

you may as well add "if we had a time machine" on to the front. very few people would answer the question as it's asked, just what the pollsters hoped for, so they could trick people who dont understand polling biases into making threads that honestly only deserve a quick post in the Kavanaugh thread and not their own thread.

I think there is a real, and likely shameful, percent of republicans that would look past a "sexual assault" to put another conservative butt on the bench, but it's not 55%. that group is also subject to delineation, as some are hyper-partisans, some are just old timers who don't see this as as bad of an act as the #metoo generation, and a mix. generational differences between the baby boomers "why was she at that party" and millennial "he looked at her mean which is as bad as rape, maybe worse" are a noteworthy polling bias.

"why was she at that party"?

The kind of thing the right definitely says.

It looks like half of Republicans are morally bankrupt degenerates that think confirmed proof of the sexual assault allegations against this kavanaugh fellow should not disqualify him from a job on the supreme court. I'm not surprised given what is known about the Roy Moore demographic that wanted to elect him even if he did molest children and it's safe to say these numbers apply to this forum too.

Pretty sure half of Pards conservative is reflected in the results of these polls too.You people make me sick -_-

There are no proven sexual assault allegations or he would already be out of politics... I'm starting to question you duffman

i was being hyperbolic genius.

the left lumps many sexual crimes and situations into the "all bad" category more often, whereas the right is generally more interested in creating a hierarchy. my point was that, per the language in that question, some right minded people may read "sexual assault" and assume a lesser example, whereas left minded don't generally care where in a hierarchy the example falls. Imagery to the left may be a violent assault, whereas imagery to the right may be more tame. the narrative "#metoo has gone off the rails" is in part due to this. The term "sexual misconduct" is nothing but a large ill-defined grey area that only has examples and not clear definition. Some people legitimatly hear phrases like "sexual assault" and then apply a filter to lessen the crime.

none of this, on either side, is something i'm arguing is justified. i'm simply pointing out that it causes a bias in the polling. i even said the % of the right that would vote for a legitimate sexual assaulter to go on the bench is "shameful". apparently that needed to be edited out for something that was clearly an exaggeration. cute pic tho.

I didn't say it was proven. The poll is a question of whether or not people would still support him if the allegations turned out to be true.

Oh, well that is true. They would be pretty scummy if so. Sorry I seemed to have misunderstood what you said.

The structure polls these days makes the results unreliable. Since less than 10% of americans trust the media, most people see polls as a partisan referendum disguised as a poll on some other topic.

"sinse he totally did it, should he be on the bench" - how the left reads it

"since there's no what he did it, should he be on the bench" - how the right reads it

the poll was trash from the start. no one answered it how it should be. it was a con job to get a headline to trick people.

You are not very good at this and should stop. You have a hard time hiding how much of a hack you are.

Thread sucks.
