The best thing the Democratic Party could do strategically is to allow Cavanuagh's appointment with limp-wristed demurral, encourage Mueller to implicate Pence or Ryan with Trump being vindicated as a snow white shitstain who was too stupid to be involved in the conspiracy but knew all about it because of his security clearance... which was the smartest thing all along. 4-D chess proven. Almost like a reality show anti-hero or something. His supporters would eat it up. And he'd lose 2020 to pissed off white women and the return of the Obama voters to the new predetermined black female candidate, my state's junior senator. And the Democrats could then go about incrementally shifting the nation toward the economic center right and the social center left while giving concessions to the most powerful oligarchs and multinational corporations to maintain their funding streams.

If I were a Democratic strategist still and forced to repress my ethics for the Party, that's what I'd suggest we do. That would be my pick.


But I'm not that person anymore. I want the Lord of Chaos to Reign. Let Trump play this smart and keep the McDonald's and Coke diet set to maximum for shit flecked smokescreens until 2025, when the law can longer charge him for the specific crimes committed during the election. Let there be riots in the streets and neo-Nazis committing mass murder while white evangelical Christians nod their heads in tacit agreement. Let chaos envelop this country and destroy it fundamentally at its roots. Set the conditions necessary for complete economic and social collapse. Allow the nation to split along regional lines, forming regional governments with little more than trade agreements left with the rest of the regions. Let the Southeast devolve into Christofascist poverty and the West adopt varying degrees of social democracy and left-libertarian minarchist syndicalism. The Midwest will do OK, and so will the Northeast by virtue of their corn-fed work ethics and enterprising spirits respectively.

I hate to admit this publicly, but I believe that John Titor was/is a real person. We're at a 2% deviation or so. Russia and the rural parts of this country are most likely going to form a military alliance and Russia will hit the cities so the rural militias can clean up. But maybe that's preventable if we just break ourselves into pieces and let the regional cultures go their separate ways first. That seems a lot more American to me anyway.
