i'm aware you like to treat russians/putins as the good guys so there's no point discussing that topic

They are not the good guys. In geopolitics there are no absolute "good guys" and "bad guys" that's a childish understanding of how the world works. As an American it's absolutely in my best interest to have a corrupt political party exposed as being corrupt. Russia will never impact my life on the level domestic politicians do.

from an outsider perspective yes that is how i view things e.g. crimea which was a clear cut example of a fight with no good guys

but amongst americans i expected conservatives in particular to have an america first attitude justifying meddling in foreign nations for the sake of american political interests while remaining vigilant against any meddling in their own political affairs by a hostile foreign nation (mainly russia/china)

Yes i have an America first perspective and i lean conservative. My America first perspective as a conservative includes not wasting trillions of dollars in needless wars & military spending. For example Iraq, Syria & Afghanistan cost the American taxpayer 6 trillion dollars. Our debt could of been 6 trillion dollars smaller; 6 trillion would of been amazing for infrastructure or i would even be okay with 6 trillion going towards some partial subsidized healthcare instead of thrown away on garbage wars. Not all conservatives are your typical neocon hawks. Libertarians ,paleoconservatives & many others that think for themselves reject that we must be the world Hegemon at all cost.

Russia exposed the corrupt DNC and i am happy they did it. I care about truth and democracy in my country and i'm not going to view this "meddling" as a negative.

So all that is pretty logical after all, the trollfarm accounts were used to change the american election but also for other purpose; Brexit.

Now some people can do the usual whataboutism aka UK and others countries were doing propaganda and interference 50 years ago or whatever diversion... All those elections were tight, and supporting foreign influence goes behond that just being a Cuck. ( )

edit; 1 last thing: we got evaluation of propaganda impact in usual medias, but here it's a different model, the amount of "sources" is like 1000 times superior and the content can be often so offensive it would not be possible to use it on "normal" broacast medias or Ads.
This is NOT the same deal.

Trump, who was not president at the time, somehow FORCED Google, Facebook and Twitter, to accept advertising money for ads, from Russia for divisive ads? I wonder how Trump could accomplish that.
Are we saying that the CEOs of those companies were beholden to Trump, or that Trump had some influence over Google, for example?

I for one, find that hard to believe. I don't think the entire US govt. could influence Google if it wanted to, let alone a single person, running for president.

Yes, I'm sure that Russia and probably a few other countries are trying to use social media, to influence Americans, just like the Democrats are doing, for example.
I know this isn't new, and I sincerely doubt that Trump had anything to do with it.


I sure hope this whole topic is about regulations concerning ads that these media giants are allowed to accept, rather than some lame attempt at somehow blaming Trump for this.
