Part of me thinks the government should intervene and do something to help these people when they have reached a mass that it's a colossal struggle to actually move in any direction or distance.

But the government stepping in really oversteps it's bounds. It probably has the right to step in when the person is manic or potentially violent mental illness since it puts other in danger.

But people just doing this to themselves is just putting a good death date to die of heart failure before they are 60 and maybe even 50.
