Bad analogy.

nope its the right analogy, exit is a short term pain but long term gain for uk. europe need uk more the uk needs europe and its a fact base on their current trade number, not to mention the entire eu project will cease to exist with uk exit. the amount of hatred toward this project can be reflected from the recent election of far left/right political party leader through out the continent. if u think no other country will follow uk lead u r sadly mistaken. but again, I hope uk remains. like I said before the world can not take the impact of brexit, its impact will be too great in a globalized world for the rest of us.

You can't possibly know what the long term effects will be. That's the image the right and UKIP are painting. But it's impossible to know the long term effects of leaving the EU.

There's a fair chance the resulting financial crash could plunge us into an economic freefall that will take another 50 years to overcome.

The EU can easily continue without us under GER and FRA.

how can one not known, the market is there, the numbers is there, the ppl is there, the intellectual is there, countries around the world is fine with out all being in the eu. trade r a mutual benefactor actions, uk it self is a 60 million ppl's market. if country such as norway and switzerland can thrive and doing even better then most of the country in europe with out being in the eu. so can the uk, its common sense and logic. lets not down play uk, when the world today from US to India is all born from this great nation and its democratic system, not the eu or even europe. europe on the contrary brought nothing but catastrophe to the world for the past 200 years. from napolean(france) continental war to world war 1/2 and between them the birth of nazism(germany) and communism(russia), which lead to 200 millions+ around the world being slaughter and misery through out the world. at the end it was the english and its fellow anglo saxon countries america/canada/australia that defeat all these evil and restore peace to the world and europe. but the proper question here is the brits still has the courage like their ancestor who rules the waves, from my view most of them dont. again, its not my vote to take. and certainly I be more favorite that uk vote for remain since it benefit the world.

Anglo Saxon doesn't mean what you think it means. Anglo-Saxon England ended in 1066 with the death of Harold Godwinson.
