If you make a thread and Skinned, Widow and Caedus disagree with you.... then you know you dun goofed.

That's a pretty good metric, if Santara disagrees too it is the most epic of fails.

Welfare perpetuates the cycle.  "A few people" abuse it?  Gimme a break.  This isn't even about it's abuse.  It is about it's effects on a culture that becomes dependent on it.  I'm not giving the death penalty to anyone.  I'm giving them the opportunity to see that they can make it on their own.  I'm giving them the chance to see a light at the end of the tunnel that isn't another train.

Not having welfare has already been tried and it failed. It's why we came up with it. Crime goes up in areas with poverty. You have to look at this situation holistic point of view. Those people do have an effect on you and vice versa, regardless of either of you likes it.

People who grow up in foster care face lifelong problems. It's the reason Indian reservations are such a fucking mess.

You got your piece of the pie and are mad others want a slice.

If a situation gets bad then obviously cps would step in, however, the vast majority of cases on welfare are not similar to what you're referring to. Your fix would most likely do more harm than good. The only real long-term solution I see  is proper education. And the problem with that is education in inner cities schools is not good.

its not that inner city education isn't good.

its how the kids in inner city grow up. They basically grow up in a bad environment. They want to be gang members, they want to be bad asses, they want to look cool. And to them, school is not cool. So they dont embrace it. Its part of the ideology fed to them by the older ones they look up to. You can easily be born in a inner city and take your education seriously, study at home, go to the public library if you have no access to internet and books etc. Finish high school with a good GPA, get into a decent school and use federal loans to fund your education. That is exactly what I did. They CHOOSE not to do that. Instead they want to go play ball, smoke pot, bang bitches etc.

Also we aren't giving out welfare as pure altruism, it is also social control.

That's fascinating.  You should go make a thread about it.

Nope that is inherently relevant to this thread. Your view of entitlement comes from your flawed (mis)understanding of libertarianism that the state should not redistribute resources to this women. This thread uses a case example to promulgate your ideological beliefs, ergo this is a thread about libertarianism. Me mocking your belief system is entirely relevant.

There are good little boys and girls in the inner cities and projects, being raised by parents ,or a parent who are doing the best they can with what they have. Their schools and education aren't good, the schools are poor and can't afford to pay the teachers as much as the "safer" schools farther out, so they have to settle too many times with who they can get. And yes many times the classes are disruptive by the kids who don't care and don't want to be there. but to say that they have a good education or even equal access to a good education is just being blind. By lumping the kids who have been pushed into this situation by the luck of birth and situation. And saying it's their CHOICE by lumping them with the bangers and gangers because of where they were born and to whom they were born show just how good that education you received was.

I don't even see the relevance of this question, it's just spam.
