What a stupid comment. Unless I liked abusing children there is no possible way for me to think it is abuse to teach them something and agree to teaching them it. Obviously if I think it's abuse I'm not going to like it.

No, they don't have a point. The only criteria for being an atheist is rejection of supernatural beings. Atheism doesn't require any sort of intelligence.

Christians are Hindu atheists. They reject the Hindi gods. Atheists are just one step further where we reject both the Christian and Hindi gods.

Atheism, by itself, is not a sign of intelligence or free-thinking. Nor should it ever be anything more than the definition I gave.

Atheists have a good argument that while they aren't oppressed anywhere on the same scale as blacks or gays or jews, they have no protections against the ways they are being oppressed, whereas the NAACP and ADL and liberal media will skewer and destroy anyone who discriminates against those minorities. Besides the general distrust of atheists where they are treated lower by the public than pedophiles on opinion polls, they get discriminated against in child custody, public office, schools and a few other things. Nobodies ever going to call an atheist a nigger and hang him from a tree, but at least blacks have their al sharptons, civil rights act, affirmative action and msnbc.

Still easier to be an openly gay policitican when the public knows you're a man who suck dicks than to say you don't believe in a god

I think a great poll would be to ask the Bible Belt if they'd rather elect a gay Christian man or a straight atheist. That could be interesting!
