After reading this thread, the list is now even more true.
We are the best, we take credit for being the longest lasting federal republic, and we're actually not disliked globally as far as foreigners and tourists go. That's a stereotype that's spread more in country than without. Americans are generally receptive to foreign customs abroad and tend to be deeply interested in the cultural heritages of the countries they visit. We're a relatively young culture, so we show a great deal of interest in cultures older than ours.
