I happen to be drifting to this position as well. And anti-Zionism and anti-multiculturalism is growing in me every day.

I used to be a "do what you like" libertarian. Now, while I still respect the rights of people to do what they like, marry gays, have abortions, etc. I feel it is more necessary now to stress my extreme disapproval of these practices. Acceptance is completely different from approval, and everyday I become more and more unwilling to accept these things.

My limited government mentality, fading due to the lack of respect the concept receives, is the only thing preventing me from supporting bans on gay rights, abortion and things of that issue. If the feminists keep it up, I'll eventually lobby to have rape reclassified as a misdemeanor.

Welcome /pol/ack

The smallest historically working government has been under a crown, with strong moral values guided by God.

If I had a choice between totalitarian democratic communism and authoritarian theocratic monarchism, I would choose the latter, always.

If we were a nation of reasonable men who agreed to adopt a sensible neo-liberal democratic framework of governance and mutually respect our minor differences in pop cultural opinion, yeah, I would agree, liberal constitutional democracy sounds great.

That's not reality. Oppress or be oppressed, I know which I choose.

I'm all over the map. I like certain ideas from each and the rest I could care less for.

Abortion should be heavily regulated.
Males should have equality when it comes to children
Marriage should be kept religious, however states should recognize domestic partnerships and give tax breaks to LBGT couples.
Commander and Chief should have served in the military, either commissioned or noncommissioned. How are you to lead a military if you have no clue what the military is?
Professional Sport players / actors / actresses / Hollywood should be regulated on paychecks. They only contibute to the less fortunate for huge tax breaks.
Dropping bombs at the cost of tax payers is better for society than dropping the life of a citizen.
Humanitarians in 3rd world countries are a joke. Take care of the problems at home first.

You've taken the worst from all worlds. You've taken the shitty Libertarian thought, the naïve socialist who seeks equality ideals, and outdated social conservatism.

...the Constitutional wording is Commander in Chief . I noticed your army profile pic and figured you would want to know the correct term for your leader

I'm in the mood for a nice, classy ideology debate.

Let's keep it clean, but try to identify what you consider to be your personal social/economic ideology, and talk about your stances.

I'm a Social Democrat/Democratic Socialist, big supporter of the New Democratic Party of Canada.

I believe the government should provide quality care for most important services such as healthcare, education, social security, etc.

I also believe monopolies should be regulated or controlled by the state.

For the most part, I believe in a Mixed Economy.

I have a liberal approach to social politics, I believe in gay rights, I'm pro-choice, etc.

I believe in a more independent foreign policy for my home and native land.

Along with heavy reform for our democratic process.

I believe that none of these things are possible without an accountable, transparent government.

if i had to put it one phrase it'd be "always look out for number one"

because no one honestly gives a shit about you, not society, not your friends, not your family, not your kids, not your wife, not your dog....k maybe your dog

whatever issue comes up on the table, you have an obligation to do what is in your best interest

this means if i'm a working class man i'd support higher taxes on the wealthy if those funds would come back to me in the form of government services so long as it did not pose a threat to my own livelihood whereas if i was a wealthy employer i'd be opposed to such ideas

my stances on any and all issues are decided in this manner

...that was not intended as an insult but a call to return to your religious roots .
