Me too.

My cousin and her kids are going through this shit atm. A reserve cop shot their dog, temporarily paralyzed him, he tried to drag himself back home, cop walked up to him, shot him again, and walked away to let him die of blood loss (neither shot hit any vital organs, iirc, i'd have to re-read the report to make sure). The 5 and 6 year olds are having quite a hard time understanding why they should still trust cops.

I don't have a problem with killing a dog that is actually attacking you/your family/your pets. But 10 minutes on youtube will show you some utterly fucked up shit with cops killing people's pets for zero reason, and that barely scratches the surface.
