The Matrix and Plato's Allegory of the Cave.

Jesus Christ, talk about some pedestrian Philosophy 101 bullshit.

oh my fav part is the quote from Einstein that we should look for reality and not what we want to see.... vs the idea that we can change reality with our imagination.... doublethink much?

/e plus the unsolicited nasty pm he sent me.... congrats on that.... with all the assholes, racists, trolls, partisan hacks and loons in PaRD, Eti_fr is the first person I've ever blocked. That is an accomplishment.

Again, thanks for the free bumps, I love so much when this thread is at the top of PaRD

Quote (Eti_fr @ 10 Nov 2012 01:09)
"And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it."

For those who did not read it the first time, and throw your hate and spam here, you just make my point better (and help keep this thread on top)... please keep going.

Since you blocked me from pm I have to answer you here (will be my last words to you in this thread, you can insult me how much you want I will not answer anymore...) --> I do not judge anyone like you do as I can notice in that quote. I do not imagine anything, and I do not know what you mean with "smarter"... this concept is subjective and part of the balanced life anyway.
True intelligence is awareness of the truth/life/present.
My only purpose is to help myself and other truth seekers (people who understand they are more than their minds, and that their body is part of the physical world --> subject to the balance of physical life and will die... possibly tomorrow or even during this night), to become more aware of the truth/life/present moment.
The goal of life is just to be more aware of life, and our world would be a heaven if the majority of mankind would be aware of this fact.
The day I was the more aware of truth/life/present is the day I was born in this lifespan, this day I had no deception/lies/illusions in my life, only the present moment.
After this day I have been educated in lie/deception and illusion like everyone else (not exactly the same of course, we all have different environment, parents and education). Now I have to re-educate myself to try my best to reach same the level of awareness of the life I had the day I was borned.
About the quote from Einstein in my signature, you obviously do not understand it.
You can not change reality... It is already here, but you only listen to your mind (what you think), rather than looking for what is (reality).

One more quote from Morpheus "I'm trying to free your mind, Neo. But I can only show you the door. You're the one that has to walk through it."
I guess this one is actually from Jesus (if you remove "Neo").

No, Plato's cave allegory is literally in Philosophy 101 first chapter, along with "Story of the Good Brahmin".

My post was aimed at his attempt to downplay the importance of it.

I quoted this bit in a formal debate once. Roflstomp'd the opposition with it.

Thanks again for free bumps.

Change: The key truth is the knowledge of the balancing opposites, because you can see this truth in action everywhere you look. Change or movement is caused when parts of a cycle or system are out of balance. They always will move or change to balance. Example, in the weather system when there is a high pressure zone and a low pressure zone, the air in the high pressure zone will move into the low pressure zone causing wind and bad weather. If you are hungry, you eat, etc.

There are two types of truth: truth you know and the truth you experience.
The mind truth is the opposite of living or real truth. They cannot exist together, so you have to sacrifice one for the other. Mankind is currently sacrificing life for the mind. We just have to do the opposite. We have to start living in “That which is” and stop just thinking about it all the time. We just have to get our minds out of the way; they are blocking true life. You do not have to think if you know life.

The truth and life:
When you know the truth, you can be completely aware of everything coming to you through your life senses, you will experience true life.

Truth = life, life = truth, but you have to learn all the truth to get all the life.

The more you see the truth, the more you will see the life. The more you see life, the more you will see the truth. They build on each other, and your knowledge of them grows until you know life completely and become life.

Truth first: People have it backwards. They want true life before they know the truth, and as a result never get the truth or life. People can get close and look like they have it all, especially the big stars in show business. They look like they are full of life and everyone wants to be like them, but they do not have it all. Even having 99% is not all of it. You need it all to take the next step in evolution and become a spiritual being. How can you live completely what you do not know completely? When you know life completely, you start living it completely.

How can you enjoy life before you know how life works? No one can fully enjoy life until they know why things happen and where their life will lead. Money, sex, success, power, fame, will not work. The truth is the only way.

You're (well the book you quote) is just slinging around a bunch of ill defined terms. It's mumbo-jumbo.
