is this better or worse than having your job outsourced to India though?

Worse. Eventually AI will get it right and eliminate the amount of quality control jobs still in place. India on the other hand will keep fucking everything up.

The Backrooms

Some probably heard the record breaking box office numbers. A YouTube series of creepypasta Backrooms, published by a 16year old was picked up by A24 and created the feature length movie.

For 10 million budget, making 200million+ so far. Physical set, real actors, no AI.

In contrast the big studios have published flops this summer. I don't have an idea of if there are departments are using AI or being assisted by AI driven tools.

I think this point's at the fundamental flaw with AI and using it with business. It's based on data sets and those are inherently backwards thinking. A company that's going to make a huge profit in the future needs to be creative and forwards thinking.

All the data Disney has collected and they didn't realize people would rather watch retail workers wandering in this hallways then a bunch of flashy lightsaber space battles

DIS products are too distilled too safe designed to appeal to most while losing their edge. Its soulless slop for the most part. I used to be a fan of Star Wars until DIS decided to mass produce a bunch of slop. Andor being the only good story out the bunch.

I'm glad A24 is doing as well as they are. Like a phoenix rising out of the dead carcass that's Hollywood.

Get on board or get left behind. Adapt. It's that simple.

Mandalorian movie is negative ROI still.

lol Star Wars alone makes more on Lego sets annually than the Backrooms ever will.
The box office isn't their business model it's just a fraction of it. They make their money through licensing fees, royalties and merchandising.
Like theme park attendance, consumer products, video games, streaming services, books, toys etc. Disney probably even made more on Mcdonalds happy meal toys than the backrooms entire gross profit...

The actual Backrooms movie tho yea it was ok-ish. Nothing too crazy. The idea is good though. Imagine if a decent video game followed it or a horror theme park where you had to try and escape... Those sort of things would make it even better.
