You said the bible perfectly answers the question of creation and where we came from so it must be true. I am saying that a mentally ill homeless man at the bus station talking about how humans are actually descended from aliens offers the same “answers” with the same amount of proof.

Are you saying that there is zero historical evidence of Jesus?

No I’m saying that the bible, other religious texts, and the ramblings of a schizophrenic scrawled on cardboard hold equal weight as possible answers to existence.

And even if I was saying Jesus the man didn’t exist, historical accounts on their own aren’t the best metric for determining if the supernatural is real. There’s plenty of historical accounts about changelings, healing via bloodletting, the benefits of human sacrifice, Bigfoot, and a whole bunch of other stuff we know isn’t actually the case. I mean shoot, if you’re going by physical evidence there are plenty of ancient Egyptian temples and religious sites that predate Christianity by thousands of years but were not on here arguing about the best way to worship the physical incarnation of the sun.

Extraordinary claims without extraordinary evidence all fall into the same bucket is what I’m saying.

Atheism is obviously fake, I'm not too religious but I think we call all say we believe in something or someone created what we have. Maybe theism, would be a better term?
