thinking in 2025 that Ukraine is in a good spot and posed to win the war is insane to me. it was always a huge uphill battle, but always favored russia the longer it went. and its gone on a long time with no end in sight. russia has the ability to be patient, ukraine can get as many weapons as it wants, and they'll still lose without people to fight. they're also salting the ground every month this drags on, the longer the war the more costly the rebuild. 3/4 of ukraine will be owned by US firms at this point, and it gets worse every day. what do they even stand to "win" at this point? a moral victory over russia? they lost most of their men, the women fled, the country needs a full rebuild outside of the capital, and the best case scenario is they give russia the 2-3 districts that russia offered them in a peace deal years ago. oh, and crippling multi generational debt to the USA. what a mess.
